# conversations.erase()

> Erase one customer's conversation. For account deletion and GDPR erasure requests.

## Parameters

**assistantId** `string` *required*

The assistant's ID.

**partition** `Record\<string, string | number\>` *required*

The customer's partition, as sent to `sessions.create`. Keys and values must not contain `,` or `=`.

## Returns

`Promise<void>`. The API answers `204 No Content`.

## Effect

* Questions, answers, blocks and the partition are erased.
* The customer's open sessions are revoked. An assistant open in their browser stops answering.
* The cost of each question is kept, without its content, so monthly caps stay right.
* Erasing a customer with no conversation succeeds too.

The next `sessions.create` for this partition starts a new, empty conversation.
